Ios - Greece

So this September, as you might have seen from my Instagram, I spent the entire month in a wonderful little island called Ios, between Santorini and Mykonos. No, the island is not called Los, it is Ios, with an i. So in the height of summer this island's absolutely buzzing, clubs that fill up with 2000+ people. I am assuming it can be comparable to Ibiza, but I have yet to experience it in the season! Stay tuned for 2018.

Wearing one of my own brand T-Shirts, featuring Jasper my frenchie! They'll be ready for purchase soon!

I spent my time at the Relux hotel, right in the port of Ios. I was lucky enough to quad bike around and see the beautiful island in such a fun and unique way. Yes it might not have been the safest, but I was in a helmet and the quad bike was about as powerful as a hairdryer.

Thai Me Up right in the port was absolutely mind blowing! There was of course lots of gyro's restaurants all over the place. There's also a Nutella cafe in the town, and a late night restaurant called Yummy's that do chips & gravy at midnight! (If that's what you're into!). I did get to go to a great silent disco called Shush, if you've never been to one I highly recommend it! It was the most fun Ive had in a long time, everyone has the same headphones on with different channels, so the entire room is dancing to different music. As I went after closing's most of the bars had shut, there was a great cocktail bar called Lotus that was open in the town still, as well as Slammer (but... this is one more for the lads!) - They slap, or hit you as you take a shot. Bizarre concept, but somehow it works. Apparently in the height of the season there's this beach club called Far Out which is fantastic! Sadly I didn't get to experience this, so Summer 2018 - here I come!

Sorry I can't be of much help with places to go on the island, I was so busy working on a new project - I'm sure you'll understand when you find out!

If you're looking for a hybrid of Ibiza and Mykonos, Ios would be your place!

Universal Orlando Resort - Loews Sapphire Falls Resort

Where do I start? This was one of my most fun getaways ever! Firstly if you know me you know I love all things Harry Potter, (and Disney), so collaborating with Universal was a dream come true. I was literally counting down the days until I was allowed to go and pretend I was a wizard for a few days...

DAY 1

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is just over a year old, unfortunately the room key doesn't act as a fast pass, but I'd rather pay for a fast pass and get the luxury of this hotel. As I walked into the hotel it was surprisingly calm for a theme park resort hotel, but this never seemed to change throughout the stay. As we checked in everything was calm, the room wasn't ready yet but this was fine, as I had to eat something after a 4hour drive from Naples.  The food at Amatista was amazing, I had the jerk chicken for lunch with a Miami Vice cocktail... the drive was long! I needed something. My friend who came as my trusted photographer had the burger, which looked insanely delicious!

The hotel room was impeccably clean, the staff's attention to detail is incredible, everyone says 'Hello' to you as you walk past. I cannot speak any higher of this hotel, and I have stayed in some top resorts world wide! Luckily this resort has the added benefit of being walking distance from City Walk, as well as a shuttle boat. (Cabana Bay however, it is right on their new theme park Volcano Bay, it doesn't have boat access to the parks). I'll let the photos do the talking because I am sure my words wouldn't be able to do it as much justice, I was lucky enough to stay in one of the suites they offer!! Take a peek.

After being absolutely floored by the room, we ventured down to the pool before the storm hit and had a wonderful cabana. However we only got to make use of the cabana for a few moments before a lightening storm hit! They are very strict about the lightening in Florida, so as soon as a storm is in sight and their radar goes off it's all out the pool, and the pool area is evacuated too. The same with the roller coasters. From what I saw of the pool, there seemed to be a couple of waterslides too! Unfortunately I didn't have time to make it back to the pool as I was so busy in the parks!

That evening my friend Tyler (my trusted photographer!) and I went to Toothsome Chocolate Emporium for dinner. WOW. The milkshakes here are INSANE. This is situated just between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, right next to Hard Rock Cafe. We took the little boat from the hotel over to City Walk, with empty stomachs and went right in.

DAY 2

IMG_9228.JPG

This was the first day tackling the parks! After being spoilt about the hotel, and gorging on amazing food, I was ready! I had strategically planned the day, starting with Universal Studios first, finishing with Islands of Adventure.

Tip #1 - buy a Park Hopper Pass, this allows you to take the Hogwarts express between both parks.
Tip #2 - make sure you cover all of Universal Orlando before entering Diagon Alley because you're best to take the Hogwarts Express as the last attraction over to Islands of Adventure
Tip #3 - None of the Harry Potter rides have fast pass, make use of early admission if you're in a Park Hotel, or take the Single Rider lines (you will be split up from your group though).
Tip #4 - wear comfy shoes, there is a lot of mileage around the parks, and City Walk!

For obvious reasons I couldn't get footage of me on the rides, hello, that's dangerous! So you'll have to take my word for it. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster is a MUST. If you love thrills and music, head to this ride first. Before you set off you get to pick your music that you'll ride too and at the end, you can see the music video of you whizzing about the track. However, before you hit this roller coaster make sure you stop by the Minions 4D ride, and Shrek. You will have to wear 3D glasses for these, but they're hilarious! Now, taking my Tip, we did a sweep of the rest of the park, Men In Black, Simpsons etc, before heading into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

You've got to try the Butterbeer!

You've got to try the Butterbeer!

If you've always wanted to be a wizard, this is the best place to be! You can buy a wand ($50) and wave it at certain things to watch the magic happen. If you're a Harry Potter fanatic like myself, then this is also the best place to be. It's just mind blowing how they've managed to set it up to replcate how the movie looks. Once I'd finished playing about we hopped on the Hogwarts Express over to Islands of Adventure before it got dark.

Make sure you can fit your family, or group into one carriage together to enjoy the experience!

Yes, I did go and treat myself to some little sweeties in there :)

DAY 3

So this was our last and final day here, and I needed more time! There's so much to see, so much to do! And definitely not enough hours in 3 days to cover it all! This was the day I managed to get around Islands of Adventure, after fully covering all of Universal Orlando the day before. Where to start? With the Hulk ride of course!! Now, Tyler had to take Dramamine before going into the parks, and we had to sit down after this ride because, it got to him a little! This is not for the faint hearted, it's intense, it's big and it's loud! But I loved it!!! After wandering about the Marvel area, we moved onto Toon Land, where I was dragged onto a water ride, and you DO GET SOAKED!!!!!!! Do not even bother buying a poncho, you get soaked regardless.

I needed an extra wind down day! I do need a vacation after this vacation!

I needed an extra wind down day! I do need a vacation after this vacation!

I never really sleep.... caption is fitting!

I never really sleep.... caption is fitting!

Now, If you haven't read my Instagram then you won't know what my new favourite ride is, KONG! For this you need 3D glasses again, but just ignore them when they say it's a high speed rollercoaster, I know thats for their duty of care but if you can do Spiderman then you'll be fine! I was speechless coming off of this ride, its 4D it's 3D, its everything brilliant.

Yes, you get soaked..... What you can't see from this photo is that I am actually walking around in wet denim shorts.....

So after 3 days in Universal living the dream, would I go back? 100%, 100% over and over, I would go every week if I could. I had a blast, I had the most fun I've had in a long while. And I hope my trusted photographer had as much too, despite having to be behind a screen filming or shooting majority of the day.

Keep checking my Instagram for new unseen photos from the trip! There'll be a new photo update every Thursday for the next couple of weeks. And a video to come too!!!

oh and p.s Get a Churro! They're one of my favourite park snacks.

P.P.S!!! Jasper loved his gift basket, unfortunately he couldn't come with me so he got some treats for me to take back home, courtesy of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort!

Miami

As you might have noticed by my Instagram, I was back in Miami at the weekend. Of course I had to take my best friend with me, who was eager to get in the car for another journey!

As always I went back to the St Regis in Bal Harbour, now I know Bal Harbour is a little far up from South Beach but it's handy for Bal Harbour shops and keeps you away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach. The St Regis actually have bikes you can take out along the beach path for a couple of hours so Jasper & I decided we'd take a little ride one afternoon.... the little chunky monkey stayed in the basket for the ride!

IMG_9038.JPG

Two places I'd highly recommend would be Los Fuegos, at Faena hotel, and also the Sunday brunch at The Setai. Now the brunch is $88 but this includes champagne cocktails, and the buffet. The buffet is fit for a King, there's absolutely everything, even handmade ice cream (which was so dreamy!). Naturally at a buffet it is a marathon not a sprint, so I managed to hit the egg station, the pastries, fruit, pancakes, fresh chilled prawns, and the desert section. The only part of the buffet I didn't managed to make room for was the curry, which my family all said was fantastic. So I will go by their recommendation that it was definitely worth a try!

Just a little sneak peek at the deserts from the buffet!

Back to Faena, this hotel is very Scarface, old school Miami decor, very Art Deco. It's definitely interesting to look around there, their bar Saxony is very cool too NYC speakeasy style. The food at Los Fuegos was fantastic, the prawn is MASSIVE, so if you are expecting a little tidily prawn, think again, it's actually the size of the plate! I had the empenada to start, which was so mouthwateringly amazing I could have had more than 1. For main, I tried the 12hr Braised Short Rib, as well as the roasted chicken. Both were absolutely fantastic, and HUGE. You definitely don't get fancy small portions here, you get fancy large portions.

This is one of the fantastic benches at Faena.

This majestic Mammoth is through the back of the hotel, right as you walk through the back doors. Unfortunatly it had been raining that night so excuse the raindrops!

Arlo NoMad NYC

So my first top on my USA trip was NYC. This place was my home, my city. Naturally after being away from my 'home' for that amount of time, when I returned I wanted to go back to my block. I remembered before I left the city that there was a hotel being built, literally on my block. So with some detective work (Google Maps....) I managed to find the hotel. It was called The Arlo Nomad. After finding this gem of a hotel, I won't be staying anywhere else now! The location is smashing, right on 31st Street between 5th and Madison Ave, right in the centre of the city. You are a short walk to Flatiron, Bryant Park and if you don't mind walking it's actually easy to get to Central Park from there (30 blocks easy....).

Let me tell you a little about this place, the rooms are micro - trendy - and affordable! The hotel opened at the end of 2016, so everything is fresh, and for a newly opened hotel I didn't experience many teething problems.
The hotel lobby is incredibly New York, there's a bodega in the entrance, which is 24hours, (ideal for a late night slice of pizza!) and also great if you need an early morning coffee. The entire hotel is pretty micro, the lobby is small, but cozy enough to be welcoming. One of my favourite perks of the lobby (besides the bodega!) is the photobooth, there's a GIF booth on the way to the elevator. Moving on up from the lobby is BARlo on the 2nd Floor, this was a great spot to wind down after a busy day shopping, and have a great cocktail. I never thought of it as a work space, but I am sure it would be a great space for meetings and to work.

I was lucky enough to have a Queen Sky room, and luckily I had a view almost exactly the same as from my old apartment. I got to look right out onto the iconic Empire State building. Now, the rooms aren't made for people who have a lot of luggage, they definitely are micro rooms, made for the ultimate city explorer. I found the room comfortable, and I do not travel light, I still managed to open my case and put it down the side by the bed without tripping over it! One of the best things about the rooms were how clean they were, and efficient. New York isn't known for its space in apartments, but the layout of these rooms was just right for a long weekend stay.

One of the final perks of the hotel, was the 31st Floor bar called The Heights. The bar had just opened the weekend I was visiting - so they didn't have a full menu just yet. I stopped by there to watch the sunset one of the evenings, and also to meet friends for pre dinner cocktails. One cool thing about the bar is they have a glass balcony which looks down 31 floors onto the road below!

The US of A Itinerary

Hello! So as you might have heard, through the grapevine (being my social media platforms) I am about to go on a 6 week trip to America. First stop... Florida! I will be spending a week with my best friend James Rees in Naples at my family's house, Easter weekend with the family in Naples and then Easter Monday - it's to my favourite place... DISNEY! I'll be staying at the Four Season hotel in Orlando, and I can't wait to show it off to you all on here! Along with some Disney photos of course!
The next part of the trip will be NYC, I get to go back to my old stomping ground and catch up with old friends, and also stay with a few of them in their lovely apartments. Back to Florida, and then the last leg of the trip is Los Angeles, where I will get to stay at the beautiful Bel Air hotel - which featured a while back on my blog and Instagram. But in the meantime, here's some photos of Jasper preparing for Disney!

Dubai - Al Naseem Hotel

Hello everyone, welcome back! So as you know from my Instagram I have been travelling a lot since February.
I recently went on a trip with my mother to Dubai, and stayed at the Al Naseem hotel. Now, if you want pure modern luxury in Dubai this is the place to stay. Everywhere else seemed quite classical and traditionally Arabic. Which isn't a bad thing, I just really like modern luxury. The contemporary interior design is inspired by sand dunes, blue skies, sea breeze and Dubai's heritage of pearl diving and Bedouin traditions. Al Naseem is the newest of hotels among the Jumeirah group.

Al Naseem also is home to a turtle lagoon which helps nurse back injured turtles from the ocean, they're also a protected species so they're all tagged and then released after a couple of months. Every Wednesday at 11am they have a feeding hour, which of course the kids love! (But I am a big kid so I was right in there!). One of my the most memorable things about the hotel was Blacktap restaurant for it's milkshakes! (photo's below!). While we left the hotel to try other restaurants, that were OK, our favourites of the trip were Coya and Il Borro, which is owned by the fashion designer Ferragamo. We also ate at a fantastic fish restaurant called Pierchic, BUT if it is a windy night, the walk along the pier makes for a chilly entrance! The food here was stunning, and not only that we had an exceptional view of the Burj (even though our room was facing the Burj, so we were spoilt!)

I was badly advised before going to Dubai that it takes over an hour to get on and off The Palm, however on both visits to Atlantis hotel we spent only 20 minutes in a taxi there, and back. I strongly recommend leaving your hotel if you ever go to Dubai, just to experience other designs and also restaurants. But if you're a person who really doesn't like to leave their base then the best area to stay in would be one of the Jumeirah group hotels alongside Al Naseem. All the hotels are connected by buggy, so you can either walk along the seafront of take a buggy to restaurants between them. You also have a selection of over 50 restaurants in the Jumeirah group too, from cheap and cheerful to fine dining.

Now, the Dubai Mall, where to start, I definitely didn't get the whole place finished. I found it hilarious how they offer a taxi service in the mall, on a little red buggy! It really is that big that they have a taxi service. Mid shopping I stopped with my mum at Joseph cafe which over looks the fountains and the Burj Khalifa, highly recommend it as a photo stop too!

Since I loved my trip so much I think I'll look at going again in the summer. Unfortunately during my stay the weather was pretty awful, but it didn't stop me from enjoying Dubai and all it has to offer.

Welcome Back!

Hey, so I know everyone is requesting I do YouTube makeup tutorials, but for now this will have to do! I hope you can hold on, it's as frustrating for me too! I just don't have the right quality tools to make a YouTube video for you all that would highlight my technique to a good standard, for you to all learn from!

So I thought I would open up my blog again with a little makeup post. I am off to Dubai next week which of course I will blog about! Don't worry! And until then, I'll have some fun makeup posts up, and some posts about my wardrobe for Dubai. Summer clothes in February? Yeah, I struggled for beachwear!

So in the caption below the photo is a link to each product I used!

I've fallen in love with Iconic's 'Stroke of Midnight Shimmer Palette. I used Highlight and Illuminate on the top of my cheek bones to highlight, and on my inner eye I used Brighten & Lift just to open up my eye. I used Glimmer & Glow as my contour, and normally I never used a contour which has Shimmer in because it doesn't always give you the depth of a cheek bone as the shine should come from the highlight rather than the contour, but I quite like the soft look it has given me! BUT it comes out strong, so becareful! Little by little! Build it up.
As for my eyes, I used the eyeshadow over my lid, and lined it with the navy liner. It's one of my most simple looks. On the top of the lash line is the navy Dolce & Gabbana liner, I lined inside my waterline with the MAC liner.

PetLondon x Jasper

Hello! Sorry for my absence on here, I've had a manic month! Firstly, let me introduce you to Jasper!! He is my new blue french bulldog and he is currently 9 weeks old and weighs 6lbs. Unfortunately he was sick for the first week I had him, he had two parasites and so now he is on antibiotics - but he finishes them in a few days and he will be all better.

I was lucky enough to work with PetLondon for Jasper's arrival, and they put together a wonderful puppy package for me. I am over the moon with the products, and so is Jasper. Let's start off with the toys, so puppies chew a lot, everything from your toes to their crate. Luckily he has the Big Rope bone - he seems to really like rope toys and I can only assume this is because of teething, it gives him something to really gnaw on. Of course the Union Jack bone is just amazing because living in New York I have to show my patriotism (Woo England!) - I really want this bone to last so he has limited access to it while he is trying to rip everything apart!

Next, the clothing! The Crest Shirt is brilliant, however he has to grow into it, so give him a couple of weeks and he will be dining at night with me in his smart collared shirt. So if you are like me and like to be suited & booted and polished at all times this get up is perfect for your pooch. But until he grows into the shirt, PetLondon also gave me a Bow-Tie collar so while he is growing into the shirt he can sport the wonderful bow-tie - it's just too cute.

Travel bowl, I really cant stress enough how important it is to make sure your puppy is hydrated. I am currently in Florida and it's HOT. But New York summers are HOT. This bowl is attached to me whenever Jasper goes on an adventure, he loves it-  but it also doubles as a chew toy! He's started to nibble on the edges when we go out, which I am fine with - better than him trying to eat rocks off the floor. This bowl will come in handy for anyone who is an avid traveller, like myself. I can't wait to pop it up in the airport for him to use next month.

For anyone thinking of buying a puppy, or who has recently bought a puppy I would highly recommend you start out at PetLondon to spoil your little monster.

Joshua Sanders Slip-ons

If you don't know about Joshua Sanders then you've been missing out! I got sent these lovely slip ons, and I couldn't be more grateful. For one they're actually comfy, and two they're great for the festival chic look! They fit true to size, and unlike Vans they don't need breaking in. I can't wait to rock these in Miami next month and at Electric Zoo festival in September. The retail for around €260 depending on the style.

Be Shades x2

When I arrived back from Florida last week, and I came home to a lovely Royal Mail delivery from Be Shades, full of the new summer colours! I cannot wait to rock these next month on my trip back down to Florida to pick up my puppy. These sunglasses are interchangeable, so depending on your outfit or mood you can switch up the colours of the arms.

You should check out their Instagram on style tips! @be_shades and also to take a peek at the hot surfer boys!

Vegas x Be Shades

I just got back from a wonderful trip to Las Vegas where I stayed at the beautiful Wynn Hotel. Although, it was incredibly busy as it was the weekend of the most anticipated fight of the year. Which happened to also be the most boring fight of the year! Luckily before my trip I received a parcel from the brand Be Shades. I am excited to follow this brand, not only do they post photos of hot surfers everyday I believe they're going to replace the iconic Oakley Frogskins. The lenses and the arms are all interchangeable to suit your mood or outfit! p.s. check out the epic chocolate arrangement the hotel sent!

Sneakers vs. Sandals

This summer, I am going to continue to work on my trainer collection. Sneakers for all you American's reading this... A couple of years ago I started to really get into the trainer world, and then it expanded and I followed blogs and went to releases, bought limited ones etc, now, I can't help it. I am a sucker for new trainers, especially ones that are rare. It's a great feeling when someone says "Oh nice kicks, where did you get them?" And you're thinking to yourself "well they're limited edition, so good luck trying to find these babies!". NYC and LA have such strong trainer game so there were a lot of options out there for me! Unfortunately I can't seem to find a link to the Roshe Tropical Pack ones, but I did buy them in the Nike in Santa Monica. The Air Max Zero were like gold dust, they released a limited amount and design inspired by the first sketch of an of the Air Max 1 (read up about them here). But it goes without saying that everyone should have a pair of Stan Smiths this summer, ditch your Converse and replace them with these iconic trainers for the festival season.

Cali Beach Vibe

Here's a few of my LA purchases, I was over the moon to be able to get hold of a pair of the Pharrell Supercolor trainers! They're like gold dust, and not only did they have my size, they had a pink pair! If you weren't aware, I love horses, so I had to get the Giles & Brothers bangle when I was in Palm Springs. It's so simple yet I feel like I can subtly show off my love for horses. Of course I had to get the JoyRich Beverley Hills T-Shirt whilst being in LA, it has a nice vintage feel to it with the old style graphics. Then to top it all off, you need the new round metal Ray Bans.

Laguna & Palm Springs & LA - California Part 2

This was the last leg of the trip, these 3 stops were my favourite. Laguna is stunning, and also close to Disney! Added bonus! We arrived in Palm Springs at the end of Coachella (dare to be different!) and saw the 3 hour long traffic jam back to LA. Palm Springs is a beautiful desert, but all I wanted to do was see a scorpion. Sadly, I didn't. For both Laguna & Palm Springs I would recommend staying at the Ritz, purely because of the location and the stunning views (You'll see what I mean in the below photos).  I was meant to be in LA for two days, but I have extended my trip by a week! Let's see what LA has in store for me, and hopefully I'll make the move to the West Coast this summer.

Napa & Big Sur - California Part 1

I am currently on a 10 day trip along the California's Pacific Coast Highway, here's a couple photos from the first two stops. Napa and then Big Sur. Napa was quiet, and the hotel was stunning, Hotel Bardessono. I would highly recommend visiting Francis Ford Coppola's winery if you ever get the chance to go to Napa. He has tonnes of memorabilia there from all his films... for those who don't know who he is, I'll give you a clue, The Godfather, now google him!
The drive from Napa to Big Sur took about 4 hours but it was a pretty journey along the coastline, I don't get much of that in NYC! I am not sure I'd return to Big Sur, although it is very scenic the hotel quality is lacking. I was very lucky to stay at the prestigious Post Ranch Inn - the celeb hot spot - but little did I know it would be a glorified camping site. No TVs in the rooms, no cereal at breakfast?! What is that about! So, I spent the day at the Monetary Bay Aquarium, I captured some amazing jellyfish photos! (They'll be up soon in my Californian Wildlife post). Next on the journey, Laguna, Disney, Palm Springs & LA.

MAC x Beauty x Philip Treacy

Here are a few items I picked up from the new MAC makeup launch. I wasn't overly impressed with the Philip Treacy range, I only found one item there worthwhile. The Mac: Is Beauty range has a few limited items, but most are relaunches of past collections. I am really intrigued by the new eyeliner 'I Get No Kick' it's going to be my new softer alternative to using  pure white on the waterline. It is a nude shimmer so it won't give off the obvious white line look against your eye.
