Halloween Horror Nights - Universal Orlando Resort
If you have never been to HHN at Universal Orlando Resort then you haven’t lived your best Halloween yet! As you know I am a MAJOR lover of Halloween, and cosplay! I can assure you this is one you MUST do in your life, so add it to your bucket list! Once you have done this Halloween Horror Night you will want to go back every single year, and nothing will be able to beat it. This has been running for 28 years, and each year they improve and add major scare factor! The Halloween Horror Nights typically start from September, until November 3rd.
Now, be prepared to be scared. I am scared if someone shouts boo! So this was terrifying for me, the park opens around 6pm, and the lights are dimmed and scarers are scaring. From the moment you enter the park you feel like you’re entering a Halloween movie set, words cannot describe, and photos do not do it justice. This years theme was Stranger Things, and my word did they absolutely nail the Stranger Things haunted house! Unfortunately you can’t video any of the houses, but here’s a link to what the Stranger Things House was like!
The park is aimed to be movie set quality with its props and transformation from day to night, it’s major attraction is the haunted houses but if this isn’t for you then there’s also scare zones, and shows and Diagon Alley will be open! This year there was a heavy 80s theme to a lot of the scare zones, they were as follows:
The Harvest - this scare zone was the first as you enter the park, and wow did I get spooked! They had people jumping out from all sorts, but TIP: If you wanted to avoid this you could walk along the sides to avoid the scare zone.
The Vamp ‘85 New Years Eve - This was my favourite! I loved the costumes for this one, and the MJ performance they had, this was the biggest scare zone - although the least scary, it had amazing costumes, which were scary - it just had a more upbeat spooky vibe!
Twisted Traditon - SCARY PUMPKINS, this was the darkest zone, hardest to see - but spooky jack’o’lanterns everywhere, and boy did they pick the some jumpy scarers for this zone!
Revenge of Chucky - OH MY WORD, so this zone had me scared the most, the scarers were all children’s toys - but suddenly they’d lose the plot and jump out and be practically foaming at the mouth! They had a little Chucky creepy puppet show in this zone too.
Killer Clowns from Outer Space - I ran through this zone, sorry! I can’t even write about it I was running so fast - chainsaws revving and all!!!
Select rides are open throughout the night, and Diagon Alley, which is GREAT! I am sure you saw my multiple Harry Potter posts so far on my Instagram, if not here they are!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Academy of Villains: Cyberpunk Show, especially considering I went with my parents and my mum had ZERO interest in the houses, so my dad was dragged through them with me, which he found most amusing because I seemed to be a magnet for every single scarer, I mean every Demogoron got me in Stranger Things! I was so spooked at one point I dropped it like it was HOT right to the ground and tripped over! It was embarrassing. Anyways, the show! This was their 3rd year back at the HHN, (when I say HHN I mean Halloween Horror Nights!), and this dance troupe took everyone back with a heavy 80s theme, with lights, dance music and incredible moves. The production is set in the future when technology has advanced and mankind is struggling to defend itself against its machine offspring. The park map has the timings for the show, and it was PACKED! There wasn’t an empty seat in there.
